Mezzo soprano and vocalist of the GRAMMY™ - nominated, Lorelei Ensemble, Taylor Hillary Boykins, boasts a robust performance schedule around the DMV area and abroad. If you’ve ever heard the phrase, “big things come in small packages,” then you have an idea of what to expect when you see this gal in action.
Taylor will kick off the ‘25-‘26 season this October as a returning soloist for Bach in Baltimore, later making her way back to Annapolis Opera as a regular ensemble singer for their fall production of Mozart’s, Don Giovanni. In November, she’ll be a featured artist in a masterclass led by Sasha Cooke, presented by Vocal Arts DC, and in private recital for retired oboist, Carolyn Sienkiewicz. Taylor will end the year as a debut recitalist for Beth El Congregation’s, 1st Wednesday’s @ Beth El concert series, as well as making her role debut with Maryland Opera in their children’s version of Humperdinck’s, Hansel and Gretel, as The Witch.
For winter + spring, Taylor will return to Music at Saint David’s, Evensong Series, and again with Maryland Opera, debuting the title role of Kandake in their double bill of Oshun, by B.E. Boykin, and Kandake, by Tim Amukele. Taylor will also make her debut with the Hopkins Symphony Orchestra at Shriver Hall, performing excerpts from Verdi’s, Rigoletto.

Taylor earned her Master of Music degree in vocal performance from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, where she was a protégé of mezzo soprano, Denyce Graves; a proud and nerdy native of all things Michigan, she received her Bachelor of Music degree from Oakland University in Rochester, MI under the tutelage of contralto, Nadine Washington.
